When I take my economics school at California State University, Fresno, USA 1982-1983, most of my American class mate do not familiar with Indonesia as a country, but when we says about Bali, they know lot, either they know from their parents, relatives, or they by them selves went to visit to Bali Islands last time a go. Indonesia in that times was not so famous in their memories. But recently, when the communication industry are run vastly, especially when the Tsunami catastrophes floods the Aceh province four years a go whom more than 100.000 peoples alives, and what the terrorist did to attach with boom in Bali twice, and twin tower in New York were under attach by another terrorist a couple a year before, lot of American peoples, and the rest of the people in the world want to know more about Indonesia, which recently have more than 230 millions peoples and the majority are Muslim.

Bali is one of thousands of beautiful islands in Indonesia, lies to the east of Java and the west of Lombok. Bali is well known as "The Goddess Island" or "The Island of The Thousand Puras/Temples." Bali is also associated with "Paradise", and not without reason. Event, many other Islands are beautiful as a Bali, such as the Island of Sumbawa,Ambon, and many other Island, like Pulau Seribu in North Jakarta.

The combination of friendly, hospitable people, the physical beauty of the island, a magnificently visual culture infused with spirituality and (not least) spectacular beaches with great surfing and diving, and the year-round pleasant climate have made Bali Indonesia's unparalleled number one tourist attraction. That's why Bali is also a place regarded by many visitors as the "Ultimate Island". If it's not enough to convince you that Bali is so gorgeous, know this, the island of Bali is year after year voted by the readers of all major travel magazines as the most enchanting travel and holiday destination in the whole world.

Hence, what to do in Bali? The answer is endless. It depends entirely on you and yourself. Bali is a wonderful destination with something for everyone, and though heavily traveled, it is still easy to find some peace and quiet if you like. If you are a spa buff, you will find Bali as the world spa capital - from budget to most exclusive ones. If you are a beach lover, I'm sure you'll rate Bali among the top ten of your beach favorites. If you are an interior or fashion designer, Bali is the place where you can get the most unique and fresh ideas. Whatever you do, there is always a piece of Bali just right for you.

Yes, Bali is multidimensional. Culture, nature, arts, cuisine, sports, shopping, whatever - could be found at their most unique elements in Bali. Even doing nothing comes at its best in this Island of Paradise. During the Nyepi celebration - a yearly tradition where people observe silence, cease from doing any evil, cut out lights entirely. Unquestionably, it is the best remedial solution for your tired soul.

BALI

Bali Island, the perfect holiday destination for all ages offers something for everyone. Bali offers not just various customs but also various "adrenalin pump" parks. Many exciting amusements are available in Bali, with something new opening all the time. The number of offshore and inland attraction are on the rise because many tourists want them. This tropical paradise has a unique blend of modern tourist facilities combined with wonderful shopping and a rich past and heritage. After white water rafting that has gained popularity in Bali, comes offshore rafting or ocean rafting. The more adventurous sort of amusement has now become an alternative sport for tourists. Meanwhile white water rafting is still a popular activity with trips on Ayung, Telaga Waja, Unda Rivers, etc. The tourists can refresh their mind by watching beautiful scenery along the route. Those are not enough, some of the best surfing beaches in the world can be found on the western side of the island whilst conversely the eastern side is a wonderful haven for families, with beautiful white sand beaches and gentle seas.

Bali is small island, just 140 Km by 80 Km and lies between Java, the most highly populated and influential of all the islands, and Lombok, one of the quieter and moderately slower paced islands. Like many islands, Bali has developed a world of its own. It not only captures what is special about Indonesia but also has a uniqueness of its own.

The culture of Bali is unique. People say that the Balinese people have reached self-content. The Balinese people are proud of having preserved their unique Hindu culture against the advance of Islam, the dominant religion throughout Indonesia. This is still reflected in days to day life and can be seen in the numerous ceremonies, Balinese festivals and magnificent temples and palaces. The Balinese are skilled artisans, particularly in woodcarving and in fashioning objects of tortoiseshell and of gold, silver and other metals. The Balinese are noted for their traditional dance, the distinctive music of the gamelan and for their skills in weaving cloth of gold and silver threads, Songket, as well as for embroidering silk and cotton clothing. Stone and woodcarvings, traditional and modern paintings and intricately designed jewelry in gold and silver are readily available in shops and galleries throughout the island.

As for recreation, there is no shortage of options. Nature walks, horseback riding, diving, surfing - even bungy jumping and white water rafting - await the adventurous here.

Visit:

 http://www.allvoices.com/contributed-news/3291723-tawangmangu-small-indonesian-niagara

Are you boring with your jobs, want to do something new, and reject the routine. Junk the job, for a week or even just a few days on your vacation holidays, one of my advice is that just getting away from it all to enjoyed for its variety of natural beauty, fresh breezes, clear streams, refreshing weather (two blanket nights), going to Tawangmangu, in Central Java, Indonesia, is one of the best place to visit.

For the foreign tourist, Tawangmangu is not so famous like Bali Island, event thought Tawangmangu is one of the favorites places for local tourist, because not so many Indonesian recreation areas have a fresh and cold weather like Tawangmangu. Other Indonesian places who have a like winter weather is Puncak Pas, in Cipanas,West Java, or Tembagapura city, in Papua.

Located 40 km east of Solo, this recreational resort offers fresh weather; scenic views, swimming pools, bungalow style hotels anti restaurants It lies on the slopes of Mt., Lawu, at an elevation of 1300 m above sea level. Other features include nearby temples, a national park and the 40 in high waterfall of Grojogan Sewu.

It has delicious drinking water, a variety of accommodation, and campgrounds, a nice place to get away to. Crowded with vacationers on holidays. One of the most exciting place to visit in Tawangmangu is to get to Grojokan Sewu waterfall on a small road from Kebon Hortikultura, or take the path nearly opposite Hotel Mali”jawan. Grojokan Sewu lies in the midele of pine forest with lovely natural panoramas. Descend to the bottom of the falls to the swimming pool.

In the forests around Tawangmangu live many wild monkeys. A Hindu temple, Reca Menggung, lies in Desa Kelurahan Nglurah, a 30-minute, 1 ½ km walk from Tawangmangu’s bus station. Hot spring Sumber Air Panas is five km from Tawangmangu. At pablengan, 17 km from Tawangmangu, are carbon dioxide and natural gas hole, oxygen vents, saltwater holes, hot springs.

Kebun Hortikultura is a verbal laboratory and horticultural experimental garden which also produces ingredients used in traditional jamu folk medicine. Located on the left about 1 ½ km up the hill from the bus station; turn it at two white post. Two km from station bis toward Sarangan is a bathing pl;ace. As an alternative to walking around town, take the occasional local car transportation (angkot) that la ports up and down the main street, or rent a horse from the villagers whose show their horses along the street.

Accommodations

Most hotels and guest houses here are in the Rp 200.000 – Rp 500.000 range, although it’s possible to find a few for as low as Rp 100.000. One of the small hotel and restaurant is Amat’s Hotel. Only about 50 km from bus station, all individual units with verandas are separated from the main building by a nice garden. Right on the main street watch the world go by Losmen Pondok Garuda, on Jl.Lawu, one – half km up the hill from the bus station, has quite attractive rooms.

Wisma Yanti, Jl.Lawu, good facilities, nice grounds, very quiet. The rooms at Pasanggrahan Mali’jawan, about 1 ½ km toward Sarangan, are not in the best shape, but it has a huge rumah makan (small restaurant), open 07.00-23.00. Across the street is Pondok Indah and they won’t came down. Camping Tawangmangu Baru, four km from bus station, comes complete with tents, camping equipment, electricity, a cafetaria, sports filed, swimming pool, and tennis courts.

Food

Sate kelinci (rabbit shish-kebab). Is a specialty of Tawangmangu’s food. Buy vegetables and fruit at roadside stands along Jl. Lawu and make your own picnic salad. Many eating stalls are around bus station. From Pasanggrahan Mali”jawan, turn left and go back 200 meters towards Tawangmangu Bus Station, see the Ayam Goreng sign. This restaurant called Sapto Argo, offers nasi gudek, nasi opor, and nasi rames. Try their es soda gembira (a blend of soda, syrup, milk), a delicious drink. There are other delicious restaurants along Jl.Balai Kambang.

Small ''Golden Gate'' in Tenggarong

The Golden Gate is the famous gate in San Francisco of United States. If the Golden Gate of San Francisco is lies between City of San Francisco and the Island of Famous former Jail of Alcatraz, the Tenggarong Golden Gate is lies to bridge the Mahakam River, Tenggarong, East Borneo (Kalimantan Timur), Indonesia.

In Tenggarong, you can also see the Tenggarong view using a cable car. You can take a picture of the local houses on the river bank from your cable car. Seem that the view of the local houses look like a harmony living, simple live and peaceful. If you down to meet the people there, they are friendly people.

One of the Tenggarong famous statue is the Lembuswana. They have a crown symbol, not a king, proboscis and tusk, not an elephant, have a wings, not a bird, have cock spur, not a cock. If you like to see the Museum of Mulawarman, you also can see this throne, still complete and in good condition.

Remember that, if you want to use cable car, you should go to Kumala Island first, before you can see the view of Mahakam river, or to see the activity of Mahakam river and also see the houses on the river bank.

Tenggarong is the Kutai Kertanegara Regency which one of the richest Regency in Indonesia and site of the former Kutai Kingdom, 39 km up the Mahakam from Samarinda. Though the new road has banished much of the town’s charm, the people here are still friendly and there is no officialdom to contend with.

For the foreign or local tourist who want more information about Kutai Kertanegara Tourism, you can vitist a tourist office at Jl.P.Diponegoro 2 for information and advice on traveling in the Mahakam river basin

A Souvenir shop below sells mostly new Dayak Kenyah crafts. Near the Sporting and Cultural Complex is an unusual mosque built during the reign of Haji Aji Pangeran Sosro Negoro (1926-1935). Inside you will find what is surely the only Indonesian public library housed in a minaret Doctor Achmad Thantawi, Jl.Cut Nyak Dihn, practices acupuncture and is open Mon-Sat 18.00 –20.00.

Tenggarong is so mall so you can walk everywhere. At the dermaga, negotiate rides with one of the many becak or motorcyclists. Local transportation also around the city. Minibus for Samarinda and Balikpapan stop at the Terminal Tepian Pandan. For foreign tourist who want to Tenggarong,, you can fly by airplane. Many private and government own airplane transportation fly from Jakarta to Balikpapan. And from Balikpapan the tourist can fly using a smaller airplane to Samarinda, or driving a rent of car or commercial bus transportation directly to Tenggarong

The Kutai Kinglom has its roots in the old Hindu kingdom of Martapura (Mulawarman), founded upriver at Muara Kaman around AD 400. In the 14th century a Muslim Kingdom, Kartanegara was founded downstream nearer the coast at Pamarangan. Two kingdom waged war until the Muslims won, but then Kartanegara was plagued by Philippine pirates. In 1782 the sultanate moved to a safer spot upstream, the site of present-day Tenggarong.

Mulawarman Museum Complex, is the imposing white palace of the town’s top attraction. An earlier wooden palace was tom down and this one build in its place in 1936. Designed by a Dutch architect, this large, solid structure is built in classical 1930’s futurist site – what a Dutchman considered suitable for an Indonesian sultan.

Over the years, Dayak tribes presented gifts to the sultan in recognition of his soverighty, and these are all on display. China’s long contact with the Kutai and Dayak people can be seen in the ceramic collection, which includes Ming china. The bedroom is fantastic, the bridal bed is decorated with elaborate bead work, and there are chairs made from deer antlers. See the starling representation of a lembu sauna, a mythological animal with an elephat’s trunk, tusks, and cou’s legs, which originated in Burma in the 1800s. Museum labeling is hit-or-miss, but many items are described in English.

Art Craft in Tenggarong, Kutai Kertanegara, East Kalimantan, Indonesia

There are many Luxury or three and four star Hotel in Tenggarong, and there also have many small hotel or Penginapan. Penginapan Zaranah and Anda I are right over the water and very conveniently located. The Anda II is in two parts, a front building with Rp 100.000 to Rp 200.000 rooms, larger, more expensive rooms in the rear go for Rp 250.000 a day. This clean and friendly family-style hotel on stilts just out on a pier. Other hotel in town is Payoeng Asri, Jl.A.Yani range from Rp 100.000 to Rp 300.000 day. Quiet and faces a garden. Both afternoon and evening meals cost Rp 25.000.

Cafetaria 17 on the boat landing is not really a cafetaria but offers some of the fanciest eating in town; Indonesian, Chinese, and Western dishes, plus ice drinks. For Padang food try RM Padang, Jl.Jend.Sudirman, RM Tepian Pandan, behind the Karya Indah Art shop, offers sate rusa (venison sate) and very good sate ayam, curries, etc. At night food stalls are set up around Pasar Pagi. Wild during are sold in Pasar Pagi. During the durin season, try tempuyak, a famous dish made of preserved durian. Or try gangan terong, cassava soup with sour eggplant, hot chillies, and fish paste.

Pasar pagi is Tenggarong’s mainmarket. Dayak crafts can be seen here, but a better slection is at Karya Indah Art Shop’ baskets, old stone necklaces, masks, mandau, woodcarvings, and much more. A Souvenir shop below Kantor Baparda (Tourist Office) also sells Dayak Kenyah crafts. Crafts can be purchased more cheaply in the villages.

Events

Every three years , during the last week in September, Tenggarong celebrates the anniversary of the founding. This cultural festival at the Taman Puskora (Cultural and Sports Center) includes traditional sports, rattan-lashing and blowpipe competitions, and a motorcycle race from Loa Janan to Tenggarong.

We recommend you also to see the performances of traditional dances, such as the belian and timbak, with dancers chanting and accompanied by gongs’ the male and female nguwai, with drums and gongs, the ngibau, a young man and girl wearing homebuilt feathers dancing to simple accompaniment. You may even see the mass gantar dance, homage to the rice-planting time. The party can last as long as five days.

Transportation.

Transportation to Tengarong is not difficult. If you want to fly by Air Plane, from International Soekarno-Hatta, you can fly to Balikpapan city, East Kalimantan first. From Balikpapan you can use Taxi, local bus public transportation, or just rent the car. You can also using small airplane from Balikpapan to Samarinda, Airport. From Samarinda Airport took about 30 minutes to 1 hour to Tenggarong. Using public bus transportaion from Balikpapan to Tenggarong needs about range about two and half hour to three hour.

Ambonese peoples think that the conflict were not usefully and do not give a benefit to anyone. Now, after six years of bloodshed conflict in Ambon, Moluccas (1999-2004) which were killed thousands of Moluccas peoples, the security in Ambon and other areas in Moluccas, either in Moluccas province or North Moluccas province are conducive, and both side, either Moslem's block or Christian block know that the Moluccas conflict were cause by evil provocateur whose only wanted to get a wealth advantage from the victims.

So many local and foreign tourist, especially from Netherlands, Australia also Japan, before the conflict went to see the city of Ambon, the capital city of Moluccas provinces. Either they want to see the old heritage like benteng, the Australian and Netherlands cemetery and to see and swim in so many beach around the Ambon Island, especially in famous Ambon beach, Natsepa.. But, when the conflict was broke, no other tourist went to this city. Now, the security are condusive. For example, last year, on March 3, 2008, about 300 British tourists aboard `Sagarose` cruise ship were went to visit Maluku provinces capital of Ambon. They stay in Ambon for about eight hours to visit a number of tourist objects and enjoy Moluccas special arts attractions.

The British tourists were slated to visit the cemetery of Commonwealth soldiers who were killed during the World War II in Kapahaha area, Natsepa beach, Liang beach and Eel tourist site in Waai village. They were also enjoyed to see the view of Ambon City where they were to see the statue of national heroin Martha Christina Tiahahu in Karang Panjang area and Mt. Nona. The number of foreign tourists coming to Maluku continues to rise thanks to the increasingly conducive security situation following the communal conflict which began in 1999 but has now ended in peace. Now many tourists are also coming from Australia have even frequently visited Maluku Now the conflict is over. The local indigenous peoples, either they are Moslem's or Christian are tired to waist their time, and they want to live in a peaceful and living in harmony again.

Like Bali, Ambon Island is the most beautiful Island in Indonesia. The Ulliasser islands – commercial, commercial, communication, administrative and geographic center of Maluku – consit of four mountainous island southwest of Ceram, from west to east they are Ambon, Haruku, Saparua, and Nusa Laut. There are some of private Airlines visit the city of Ambon airpots at Laha (46 km from the central city of Ambon), like Mandala Airlines, Lion Air, Merpati Airlines and others. The Airline are from Jakarta, Surabaya, Makassar or Manado. The location airport is at Laha, on the southern shore of the island’s northern peninsula, facing the city.

Today Laha airport is modern Airport which the boeing or Jet Airlines can take on the runaway. From the Airport to Ambon there are many sedan taxi which fare between Rp 50.000 to Rp 150.000, and Shuttle bus run by local Travel Agency which fare around Rp 50.000 per person. The road from the airport run around Ambon Bay and affords wonderful views. On the way you pass Universitas Pattimura in Poka, with fisheries and shipbuilding facilities. If you want to get off at Poka, thereis a speedboat over to Ambon for only Rp 5000,- Hitching is also possible. There are many beach surround the Ambon Island.

The famous one is Natsepa beach, 30 km north of Ambon city and Liang Beach also around 40 km north of Ambon city. Location of Natsepa beach and Liang Beach are in Central Moluccas district, close to the capital city of Central Moluccas District of Tulehu. The Banda Islands in Maluku are home to more than 60 percent (or 432) of the world's 700 coral species, which is why most of the province's waters are included in the Coral Triangle, an official says. Maluku is unique in that unlike any other Indonesian province, more than 90 percent of its waters are included in the coral triangle, known for its high biodiversity. If managed optimally and effectively, Maluku's marine areas could yield high economic returns. With vast areas of coral reefs, Maluku is rich in fish and other sea biota including decorative fish species.

Fish species found in Maluku waters include the Black spotted Puffer, Trumpet fish, Anemones, Juvenile Damselfish, Porcupine fish, Ornate Ghost Pipefish, Scorpion Fish, Lizard fish, Moray Eels, Seahorses and Banded Sea Snakes. Shopping Even more expensive if we compare to Java or Bali, you can find about anything you might want if you are willing to wander around. Ambon city has hundreds of (mostly) Chinese and Bugese shops. The city market is fascinating, but the crowds are heavy. Black coral bracelets (akar bahar) or turtle shell bracelets, gigi duyung (sea cow teeth). Great Ming platters, the Naulung people of Ceram have loads of 16th-century Ming cheaper, but you have to really hike for it.

Pulau Buru is the origin of kayuputih oil, which is processed and sold quite cheaply on Ambon. Runut is the local name for the tissue which covers the young leaves of a coconut free. In the past it was used as a sieve for sago washing, but its contemporary use is as a basic material for fans, bags, and wall decorations. Ambon’s oldest craft, sold to Dutch tourist for generations. The first designs were of the kora kora, the Malukan gondola, built entirely out of cloves. Nowadays, clove artifacts are also produced in Latuhalat but sometimes their stock is depleted because they sell mostly to retailers. Designs now include baskets, flowers, birds, cigarette and cigar boxes, and whole ships mounted in glass cases and built completely out of cloves with tiny seamen, oars, and lanterns on deck.

Craft shops are along Jl.J.Latu Harhary and A.Y.Patty in Ambon City. In Rumahtiga village, visit Frans C Tita’s Salawaku Art shop, a shellcrafts cottage industry. Board a ferry or outrigger from near Galala, northeast of Ambon,, to Rumahtiga across Ambon Bay. Batumerah a section of Ambon, is the center of production for attractive pearl and tortoise-shell articles. There are two traditional festival are usually attract both local and foreign tourist, that is Pukul Sapu Festival in Morela and Mamala villages, in Central Moluccas District, and Bamboe Gila attraction in many places in Ambon Island area. An extraordinary musical people, the Ambonese are know for their many songs of lament, farewell, and fishing. They are also very adept at choir singing.

The women of the island sing like angels, go to the New Garden Restourant to hear the customers sing. There are 20-30 flute bands in ambon city, usually connected with a church. Other Ambonese musical instruments are made from seashells. Shell orchestras, (orkes kulibia) are composed of individual players each with a large triton shell. Like a European bell or Sundanese angklung orchestra, each player plays individual notes. Cemeteries In the suburb of Tantui just east of Batumerah, about two km from downtown Ambon, an Allied Forces Cemetery was established to consecrate the British, Dutch and Australian servicemen killed in Maluku and Sulawesi during World War II.

A regional museum in Batu, Cipeo containing historic, craft, and ethnographic objects from all over the province. On Jl. Selamat Riadi in the town center, across from the Pattimura statue, the original fortress was build by the Portuguese in 1575 and named Fort Kota Laka. The Dutch overran it in 1605, ending Portuguese control of the Spice islands. To stamp out Portuguese prestice, the Dutch reduced the fort nearly to its foundations, renamed it Fort Victoria, then expanded and updated the complex over the next 350 years. You can still recognize the symbols of the various towns and provinces of Holland on the different crest on the fort wall.

Now the military occupies the site and only the gate, a few old buildings, and the large bulwarks along the sea reamin of the original fort. Fort Hollandia, over gworn with grass is next to Fort Victoria. Accomodations Since accommodation is modest expensive and the city’s airport is 46 km from town, Ambon City is not the place for just on overnight stop. There are a few small hotel closed to the Laha Airport. And there are plenty of Star and Small Hotels operations in Ambon city from Rp 150.000 a day to Rp 300.000 a day.

Hotel Amboina is in Jl.Kapt Ulupaha 5, and Hotel Mutiara in Jl.Patimura 90 and small but nice Hotel around Mardika area, or other small and cheap Hotel but clean Hotel Abdulalie in Jl.Sultan Babbullah.. Most of the town’s many warung serve tasty nasi ikan with vegetables or mie goring for Rp 5000. Try the stands around the corner from the Garuda Ofice, Bakmie wagons peddle soup. Other warung dishes served in town tend to more expensive, for example, in front of Masjid Raya at night massive portions of baked fish and baked potatoes cost Rp 10.000. Try the Ambonese sweet-sour sauce colo-colo, made with citrus base and red chilis, it’s especially piquant with baked fish. Out in the villages the place to eat is the pasar where women sell snacks of rice and vegetables heated up on the spot and wrapped in banana leaf. Soo, enjoy the ''Ambon Manise''.

GojiKids®

One of the measures to consider when determining an Organization’s overall success is its commitment for giving back to its community. As an International Company, FreeLife’s community is global in scope. It is for this reason that a portion of the worldwide sales of FreeLife’s products is returned to children in need across the globe through our giving enterprise, GojiKids®. FreeLife’s mission of “serving others” would mean considerably less without freely giving to those who are most in need.

Shares in the Service Pool are calculated as follows:

Total Service Points + (Title Factor multiplied by your Net Growth) = Total Shares

Total Service Points for Ambassadors and higher consist of Personally ENROLLED Service Points and Personally ENROLLED Leg Service Points, These points are calculated as follows:

Personally ENROLLED Service Points are earned when you:

  • Personally Enroll a new AC100 Marketing Executive with at least 100 points with an application date of September 1, 2008 or later = 2 points. 1 additional Service Point will be earned if the new enrollee purchases a Quick Start Pack.
  • Develop a new personally enrolled Star Director with an application date of September 1, 2008 or later = 8 points

Personally ENROLLED Leg Service Points are earned by Ambassadors and higher when you:

  • Develop a new Star Director in a personally enrolled leg that is not blocked by a paid Ambassador or higher in that leg with an application date of September 1, 2008 or later = 4 points

To participate in the Service Pools, Ambassadors and higher must earn at least 14 Personally Enrolled Service Points each month, and 30 Total Service Points. If an Ambassador or higher achieves 60 or more Total Service Points, they will receive double the Service Point credits for that month.

Director II-Director Vs must earn at least 14 Personally ENROLLED Service Points to participate in the Service Pool. If a Director II-Director V earns 30 or more Personally ENROLLED Service Points, they will receive double the Service Point credits for that month.

Service Points will count for up to 3 consecutive months, as long as they remain active in each month. For example, for a Star Director to count in January, February, and March, they must remain an active Star Director for all 3 months. The same rule applies for a personal enrollment of a New Marketing Executive on the AC100.

TAIslim™ (Case of 4)

Lose Weight, Feel Great!

Doctors and diet experts agree that there's only one sustainable way to lose pounds and inches, and that's to burn more calories than you take in. But if you've failed with diet after diet, it's not your fault. Trendy pills and potions use gimmicks to give you some early results, but the weight always returns. Over time, this yo-yo cycle of losing and regaining can actually slow your metabolism, making it even harder to lose weight. But now, FreeLife® science has found the way to help you lose the fat and keep it off, and that's TAIslim™.†‡

In Asia, the word tai signifies "total" or "complete." And unlike any other diet you've ever tried, the comprehensive TAIslim plan addresses every key aspect of successful weight control. TAIslim is based on FreeLife's revolutionary patent pending technology and research on the ability of the goji berry to reduce unsightly and dangerous belly fat.

TAIslim™ helps you to reach and maintain a healthy weight in four important ways:

  1. Fights abdominal fat: TAIslim contains FreeLife's exclusive GoChi®, clinically shown to decrease the body's production of stress hormones that cause you to accumulate unhealthy belly fat.† Other ingredients act on digestive tract enzymes to help reduce the amount of calories absorbed from starchy or fatty foods.†
  2. Enhances metabolism: Clinical results on TAIslim have demonstrated a dramatic increase in the body's calorie burning potential compared to placebo, giving you the energy to maximize your workout performance†
  3. Helps control appetite: TAIslim supports a positive mood, suppressing appetite and between-meal cravings to help you to cut unwanted calories†
  4. Cleanses and replenishes: TAIslim's advanced proprietary NuFlora™ fiber provides gentle cleansing and detoxifying action to promote regularity and healthy microflora, while slowing the absorption of food to improve metabolism.†

TAIslim... INNOVATICE CLINICAL SCIENCE, WITH THREE PATENTS PENDING!

‡For best results, use every day in conjunction with healthy dietary choices and exercise, and drink 8 glasses of water per day. See TAIslim.com for the complete TAIslim plan of healthy lifestyle recommendations.

“My weight loss journey these past 10 weeks on the TAIslim plan has been amazing! I have struggled with weight issues most of my adult life and have tried many times in the past to lose weight without success. I have lost just over 27 ½ pounds and a total of 31 ½ inches off my total overall body measurements. TAIslim not only met my expectations, but exceeded them. I am so happy with this product and with what it has done for me. It is not only the pounds and inches that are melting away, but it has given me more confidence in myself and with my self-image as well. I still have more to lose to reach my goal, but I am confident that I will reach that goal in time for summer fun with the help of TAIslim! Thank you FreeLife for the gift of this amazing product!”

Pam D.

“My life was heading in the wrong direction as I was living in a world of stress and grabbing a fast food meal as I rushed through the day. Every day as I dressed, looking in the mirror, I found myself wondering if I would ever lose this extra weight. Thanks to the greatest weight loss product on the planet called TAIslim, I not only lost 36 pounds, but I feel like a new person who looks and feels great!”

Debra M.

“I was beginning to accept that I would be overweight for the rest of my life. I started a very stressful new job, so I decided to start drinking TAIslim in hopes that it would help me cope with the stress. I lost 38 pounds in two months and I feel wonderful! I continue to lose weight and everyone is noticing, which motivates me to lose even more and makes me feel positive about myself. I definitely have more energy and feel great! I get so excited about this product that I want the world to know about it and for them to know how good it will make them feel. It is just -amazing.”

Irene A.

“Since starting TAIslim I have lost almost 50 pounds and many inches in less than 3 months! I find this amazing because I have been one who has dieted, worked out, and purchased everything from protein powders, juicing, and blockers to help without success. My energy is up and I find I am not hungry that much. With TAIslim I have been able to eat some pizza occasionally and still lose weight!”

Rome B.

“TAIslim has been the only weight loss product I have been able to take without feeling jittery. In 90 days I have lost an incredible 30 pounds. My dress size has gone from a 14 to an 8. I continue to lose each week and I am in a weight range I have not seen in over 20 years. To Protect Journalist

(TPJ)

(Africa, Asia and Latin America)

On July 4, 2010, we have a plan to establish an independent journalist organization; we call it To Protect Journalist (TPJ). We do not decide yet which city will be the first place for our first congress to chose our formal Chairman and other members committee, and which city will be a TPJ headquarter offices, either in Jakarta, Indonesia or in New York, USA, and we do not decide yet which city will be our next firs congress, either in Jakarta or New York.

Our mission first is to provide direct assistance to journalists in poor countries in Africa, Asia and Latin America whose needs could not be addressed by advocacy alone--journalists who needs financial assistance for their family, because their husband or wife as a journalist must go into hiding or exile to escape threats; journalists in need of medicine and other material support in prison; and journalists injured after violent attacks

The program helps journalists through a combination of financial and non-financial assistance. TPJ maintains a distress fund through which it dispenses emergency grants to journalists. The program also raises funds for journalists from outside sources and collaborates with other free expression organizations. When necessary, TPJ lobbies governments or international agencies to help secure refugee or asylum status for journalists and provides logistical support to journalists when they resettle in exile. We also refer journalists to resources, including information on grants, fellowships, and awards.

The first priority of our program is to give a financial assistance to the Journalist families, either to pay their children school, foods and other necessary family needs. We focus in these areas, because most of our journalist still lives in underpaid conditions.

We in Indonesia for example, the majority of our journalist were under paid, a lot of them can not effort to pay their children's school, and is why some of our journalist receipt some money or valuable gift from theirs news sources. If we do not help them financially, their independent stand as a journalist will endanger, and their credibility is also weak.

How did TPJ get started?

A group of Indonesian Journalist try to created the TPJ in response to the poor life conditions for a Journalist whose live in Africa, Asia and Latin America to provide direct assistance whose needs could not be addressed by advocacy alone--journalists who needs financial assistance for their family, because their husband or wife as a journalist must go into hiding or exile to escape threats; journalists in need of medicine and other material support in prison; and journalists injured after violent attacks. We focus to give a financial assistant to the poor journalist families first.

Who runs TPJ?

In the near future TPJ will have a temporarily headquarters in Jakarta, with temporary status TPJ Chairman, Office Manager, three staff, and one receptionist. We will chose our newly and the first chairman in our first congress in July 4, 2010 in Jakarta or New York.

How is TPJ funded?
TPJ is funded solely by contributions from individuals, corporations, and foundations. TPJ does not accept government funding.

Why to help a Journalist family is important?
A Journalist can not stand their independent journalist if they receipt some money, or valuable gift from their news sources. We found that a lot in Indonesia. So, to make them more independent we provide a financial assistance to their families, and to themselves.

Without an independent journalist, we can not have a free press. TPJ in the future will operate in poor countries in Africa, Asia and Latin America

Journalists Killed in 2009: 17 Confirmed

(Sources: http://cpj.org/deadly/2009.php)

CPJ research indicates that the following individuals have been killed in 2009 because of their work as journalists. They either died in the line of duty or were deliberately targeted for assassination because of their reporting or their affiliation with a news organization.

See our list of pending investigations into suspicious deaths, called Killed: Motive Unconfirmed.

Total Confirmed Cases for 2009: 17

Imprisoned

2008 prison census: 125 journalists jailed

Journalists in prison as of December 1, 2008

Journalists Missing

CPJ research indicates that the following journalists have disappeared while doing their work. Although some of them are feared dead, no bodies have been found, and they are therefore not classified as "Killed." If a journalist disappeared after being held in government custody, CPJ classifies him or her as "Imprisoned" as a way to hold the government accountable for the journalist's fate.

Mauricio Estrada Zamora, La Opinión de Apatzingán, February 12, 2008, Apatzingán

Estrada Zamora, 38, a crime reporter for the daily La Opinión de Apatzingán in the central Mexican state of Michoacán, was last seen on the night of February 12, when he left the newspaper's offices in Apatzingán. No one has heard from him since.

Estrada left the offices alone at approximately 11 p.m. and had told colleagues he was heading home, they told CPJ. The next morning, local authorities found his car in Buena Vista Tomatlán, a municipality near Apatzingán. The policeman who found the car alerted the paper's staff after finding Estrada's press pass in the car windshield. The car was parked, but its engine was running. The doors were open and several items were missing, including a stereo and Estrada's camera and laptop, La Opinión de Apatzingán staff told CPJ. Estrada's immediate family reported him missing to state authorities that day.
La Opinión de Apatzingán staff and Estrada's family said they believe the reporter's disappearance could be linked to a dispute he had in January with a Federal Investigations Agency agent who was posted in Apatzingán. On February 14, La Opinión de Apatzingán wrote that Estrada had referred to the agent in print only by his nickname, "El Diablo" (the Devil.) CPJ was unable to determine the nature of the dispute.

María de la Luz Uyuela Granado, the daily's editor-in-chief, told CPJ that the circumstances surrounding Estrada's disappearance remain unclear. Uyuela said Estrada didn't investigate sensitive stories. In fact, the paper does not investigate organized crime or other risky topics that they consider too dangerous. According to Uyuela. La Opinión de Apatzingán only publishes official information when it comes to crime.

Estrada also contributed reports to La Opinion de Michoacán, a sister newspaper of La Opinión de Apatzingán.

Elyuddin Telaumbanua, Berita Sore, August 17, 2005, Nias

Telaumbanua, a journalist with the daily Berita Sore, was reported missing on the island of Nias off the northwestern coast of Sumatra on August 22.

Telaumbanua left his home in the northern town of Gunungsitoli on August 17 for a reporting trip, promising to return home after several days, according to his wife. An editor for Berita Sore told local reporters that Telaumbanua may have disappeared while reporting on a murder in the island's southern Teluk Daram district. Telaumbanua, 51, had also recently reported on criminal gangs, local corruption, and irregularities in recent local elections, sources told CPJ.

Ukuran Maruhawa, a journalist traveling home with Telaumbanua, said that the two were ambushed on August 22 by a group of six men riding three motorcycles who forcibly took Telaumbanua away, The Jakarta Post reported. Local journalists told CPJ that they fear Telaumbanua is dead. Citing unnamed witnesses, Berita Sore reported that the journalist was beaten and killed by gangsters on August 24.

Journalists and family members have protested to police and lawmakers, urging them to find those responsible for his disappearance. Hundreds of journalists gathered in Medan in northern Sumatra on September 15 to protest the ongoing delays in the investigation.

  • Backs up Outlook files: Disaster-proof email protection.
  • Block-level incremental backup: After the initial backup, MozyHome only backs up files that have been added or changed, making subsequent backups lightning fast.

Founded in 2005, we're focused on making simple things simple and complex things possible. The good folks who bring you Mozy are located in Pleasant Grove, Utah and are part of Decho Corporation.

We believe:

·         You shouldn't have to think about backup.
Backup should be set up once, and then work automatically.

·         Your files should be encrypted.
Your backup files should be encrypted and stored in a secure, remote location that's only accessible to you — from anywhere.

·         Your backups should be smart.
Your backup system should be smart enough to only back up data that's not already been backed up, only back up parts of a file that have changed, and be able to back up open and locked files.

·

I gotta tell you when I was planning my million dollar launch I new I needed a payment solution that was Reliable, Risk-free and Robust. There was no real doubt in my mind that PayDotCom would over deliver for me yet again.

And the best part is I can be up and running in minutes and also reach out to a huge army of proven profit-pulling affiliates.

To find a service like this I would have searched the ends of the earth and paid a small fortune so it's been my own personal secret that is now leaking out and I just hope you guys keep your prices so ridiculously low (I seriously thought it was a typo error when I saw the tiny fee amount I had to pay on a $1million launch.

When you are dealing with customers' money, making sure affiliates get credit and being able to rely on a robust service that can handle anything than you use PayDotCom. We did a $849,000 in 3 days and everything went like clockwork. You might be able to tell - I love you guys and you've got yet another customer for life here!

The control panel is so easy to use, and within seconds, I can have up-to-the-minute reports on my earnings, my affiliate commissions, as well as the commissions

I owe my own affiliates for sales made through their links. The marketplace is awesome! This system is comprehensive enough for any business to utilize, yet simple enough for the inexperienced internet "Newbie" to use.

Thanks for providing this awesome alternative for online payment processing! You are the greatest!"

"PayDotCom Is Way, Way, Way Better..."

"Just to let you know I'm changing over completely from C----bank & A---PilotRiches, to PayDotCom.com.

My god, you've really pulled out the stops.PayDotCom.com is way, way, way better than C----bank, and any other affiliate market place I've seen & used. The fact that I can pay my affiliates - and be paid by my merchants - by PayPal is fantastic, no more having to  wait for the PayPal check to come over to the UK, and paying about $20 to clear it!!!

And it's all so easy & so cheap, I am completely unrestricted by any charges, red tape & unnecessary steps, which means I can just concentrate on creating & marketing products.

Also, the fact that potential affiliates can actually search for my product, rather than just being in a list by popularity, is an enormous advantage, I'm very happy about that!

In 2001, we made a revolutionary move by publishing the performance metrics of all advertisers, publishers, and ads within our network, the CJ Marketplace. This approach provided both advertisers and publishers for the first time a way to gauge the value of their existing and potential relationships based on two key metrics – average earnings per 100 clicks (EPC) and network earnings – and fundamentally took affiliate marketing to the next level.

Today Commission Junction continues to move forward by offering a full suite of value-added services to customize its affiliate marketing solutions, dedicated support for top-performing publishers, as well as a fully managed search solution. And yes, we remain customer service fanatics.

                                     ‘’SELAMAT DATANG’’ (Welcome) to JAKARTA

This is the common greeting Indonesian use to welcome guest and visitors. Jakarta is the capital city of the Republic of Indonesia, a country composed of more than 13,000 islands with a population of over 230 million. Comprising more than 300 ethnic groups speaking 200 different languages, the Indonesia population exhibits marked diversity in its linguistic, culture, and religious traditions. As the Capital City, Jakarta is a melting pot of representatives from each of these ethnic groups. Jakarta is a special territory enjoying the status of a province, consisting of Greater Jakarta, covering of 637.44 square km area. Located on the northern coast of West Java, it is the center of government, commerce and industry and has an extensive communications network with the rest of the country and the outside world. Strategically positioned in the archipelago, the city is also the principal gateway to the rest of Indonesia. From the Capital City, sophisticated land, air, and sea transport is available to the rest of the country and beyond.

Jakarta is one of Indonesia's designated tourist areas. It is a gateway to other tourist destinations in Indonesia and is equipped with all the means of modern transportation by air, sea, rail, or by land. It has the largest and most modern airport in the country, the most important harbor in Indonesia and is well connected by rail of good roads to other destinations in Java, Sumatra, and Bali. As Indonesia's main gateway, Soekarno-Hatta International Airport serves a growing number of international airlines and domestic flights. Jakarta is a city of contrasts; the traditional and the modern, the rich and the poor, the sacral and the worldly, often stand side by side in this bustling metropolis. Even its population gathered from all those diverse ethnic and cultural groups, which compose Indonesia, are constantly juxtaposed present reminder of the national motto; Unity in Diversity.

Finding its origin in the small early 16th century harbor town of Sunda Kelapa, Jakarta's founding is thought to have taken place on June 22, 1527, when it was re-named Jayakarta, meaning Glorious Victory by the conquering Prince Fatahillah from neighboring Cirebon. The Dutch East Indies Company, which captured the town and destroyed it in 1619, changed its name into Batavia and made it the center for the expansion of their power in the East Indies. Shortly after the outbreak of World War II, Batavia fell into the hands of the invading Japanese forces that changed the name of the city into 'Jakarta' as a gesture aimed at winning the sympathy of the Indonesians. The name was retained after Indonesia achieved national independence after the war's end.

The ethnic of Jakarta called "Orang Betawi" speaks Betawi Malay, spoken as well in the surrounding towns such as Bekasi and Tangerang. Their language, Betawi Malay, has two variations: conventional Betawi Malay, spoken by elder people and bred in Jakarta, and modern Jakarta Malay, a slang form spoken by the younger generation and migrants.

Jakarta's architecture reflects to a large extent the influx of outside influences, which came and has remained in this vital seaport city. Taman Fatahillah Restoration Project, begun in the early 1970s has restored one of the oldest sections of Jakarta also known as Old Batavia to approximately its original state. The Old Portuguese Church and warehouse have been rehabilitated into living museums. The old Supreme Court building is now a museum of fine arts, which also houses part of the excellent Chinese porcelain collection of former Vice President Adam Malik. The old Town Hall has become the Jakarta Museum, displaying such rare items as Indonesia's old historical documents and Dutch period furniture. Its tower clock was once returned to England to be repaired under its lifetime guarantee, which up to now has already lasted hundreds of years.

In recent years, Jakarta has expanded its facilities for visitors with luxury hotels, fine restaurants, exciting nightlife and modern shopping centers. It contains many tourist attractions such as Taman Mini Indonesia Indah (Beautiful "Indonesia in Miniature" Park), restored colonial period buildings, island resorts in the Pula Seribu (Thousand Island), and an extensive beach recreation complex called Ancol. "Beautiful Indonesia in Miniature Park" popularly called TMII "Taman Mini Indonesia Indah", built to portray the variety of cultures found within the many islands contained in the Republic of Indonesia, this open-air museum comprises the many architectural forms of arts and traditions of all Indonesia provinces. It is proof of the country's motto of Unity in Diversity as well as Freedom of Religion depicted in the houses of worship built on the grounds.

Jakarta has preserved its past and is developing for the future. Skyscrapers in the center of the city are part of a new look. Modern luxury hotels today cater to the discriminating visitors. Transport within the city is plentiful. Jakarta is the center of the nation's industrial, political and cultural life. It is home to many of the country's finest research institutes, educational facilities, and cultural organizations. Jakarta is uniquely the seat of both the national as well as the regional government.

Over the last several decades, Jakarta has proudly developed into one of Asia's most prominent metropolitan centers. Today, Jakarta's skyline is covered by modern high rises. The many state-of-the-art shopping centers, recreation complexes and toll-roads have become hallmarks of the city. The quality of life and the general welfare of its inhabitants have improved considerably with the city's fast pace of development. Jakarta's cultural richness and dynamic growth contribute significantly to its growing importance as one of the world's leading capital cities

National Monument

The National Monument, or "Monas" as it is popularly called, is one of the monuments built during the Sukarno era of fierce nationalism. The top of the National Monument (Monas) is Freedom Square. It stands for the people's determination to achieve freedom and the crowning of their efforts in the Proclamation of Independence in August 1945. The 137-meter tall marble obelisk is topped with a flame coated with 35 kg of gold. The base houses a historical museum and a hall for meditations. Taman Mini Indonesia Indah (Beautiful Indonesia in Miniature Park) is Indonesia's answer to every visitor's prayer to see the magnificent archipelago in just one day. An extensive park to get a glimpse of the diverseness of the Indonesian archipelago, it represents Indonesia's 27 provinces and their outstanding characteristics, reflected most strikingly in the exact regional architecture of the province. An extensive theme park set in over 100 hectares on the outskirts of Jakarta; the All Indonesian islands are realistically reproduced in miniature in a central lake and around the lakes, there are pavilions. Each pavilions is representative of each province firm the traditional architectural style in miniature to a wonderful display of cultural items and exhibits. The park's centerpiece is a beautiful artificial lake. The complex was the brainchild of Madam Tien Soeharto, the late Indonesian first lady.

Jaya Ancol Dreamland (Taman Impian Jaya Ancol)

Taman Impian Jaya Ancol, an amusement park in north Jakarta, Indonesia, is one of the most attractive places serving the densely populated city of Jakarta. It has all the adventures people crave for; Sea World, Fantasy World, Atlantis Water Adventure and Marina Beach. This is Jakarta's largest and most popular recreation park. It is built on reclaimed beach land at the Bay of Jakarta, having, sea and freshwater aquariums, swimming pools, an artificial lagoon for fishing, boating, bowling, an assortment of nightclubs, restaurants, a steam-bath and massage parlors. The Ancol complex includes a Marina, Dunia Fantasi (Fantasy Land), a golf course, hotels and a drive-in theater. The "Pasar Seni" or art market has a varied collection of Indonesian handicraft, paintings and souvenirs on sale. At a nearby open-air theater art performances are held using the local dialect.

Pulau Seribu (Thousand Island)

Thousand Isles near Jakarta has been a favorite destination for ages. Paradiso, containing four island's Kahyangan (formerly known as Cipir), Bidadari (used to be called Sakit), Onrust and Kelor offer spectacular views of the forest and the sea. The name Paradiso indeed comes from Paradise, for 'Kahyangan' in Indonesian means 'Heaven' in English, and 'Bidadari' means 'Angel'. Dotted throughout Jakarta Bay are 120 tropical islands and coral atolls known, rather misleadingly, as the Thousand Islands. This group of islands in the Jakarta Bay offers a heaven away from the bustle of city life. There are golden beaches fringed with coconut palms. The surrounding waters are a paradise for skin divers. They are filled with a myriad of tropical fish, which live among the multicolored corals. The islands can be reached from Tanjung Priok or Pasar Ikan (Sunda Kelapa) by ferry or by chartered boat. Some of the islands in this group developed for tourism are Pulau Bidadari, Pulau Anyer, Pulau Laki and Pulau Putri. Pulau Tanjung near Putri has an airstrip. There are cabins for hire, having fresh water on Pulau Air and Pulau Bidadari only. The Pulau Putri Paradise Co. has developed Pulau Putri, Pulau Melintang, Pulau Petondan and Pulau Papa Theo as a holiday resort with cottages, restaurants, diving and sailing facilities. With a total population of only 13,000 people, the bay contains a sprinkling of the 'virgin islands', although the majorities are inhabited. Many are privately owned. The departure point to this cluster of individual paradises is the Ancol Marina, where further information on travel arrangements can be found. Daliy boats to most islands, departing at 08.00 and 09.00.

                               To Protect Journalist and Donation

To Protect Journalist

(TPJ)

(Africa, Asia and Latin America)

On July 4, 2010, we have a plan to establish an independent journalist organization, we call it To Protect Journalist (TPJ).

We focus in this areas, because most of our journalist still live in underpaid conditions.

NEWS: Indonesian Ulama Council Ban on Smoking

NEWS : Indonesia

Indonesian Ulama Council Ban on Smoking

Indonesian Ulama Council (Majelis Ulama Indonesia/MUI) at the meeting in Padang Panjang, around 870 km (540 miles) north west of the capital Jakarta dicided to ban on Smoking in Indonesia

MUI edicts issued on Jan. 25, 2009

1. A ban on aspects of yoga that contain Hindu elements.

2. A ban on vote abstention if “qualified” candidates exist.

3. A ban on smoking by children and pregnant women, and in public places.

4. A ban on abortion unless the mother is a rape victim, the pregnancy endangers her life, or the fetus is aged less than 5 weeks.

5. A ban on vasectomy because the process is “irreversible”.

6. A ban on marriage with minors, based on a 1974 law that forbids men under 19 and women under 16 years old from marrying

JAKARTA  (The Malaysian Insider - Jan 27 - 2009)  - The country’s highest Islamic authority has come under fire for bans on vote abstention, smoking and yoga.

Edicts on the bans were issued by the Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI) during its two-day national meeting in Padangpanjang, West Sumatra, which ended on Sunday.

Some 700 clerics from the council agreed Muslims were forbidden to abstain from voting in elections if “qualified” candidates existed.

“Islam obliges Muslims to elect their leaders if the latter meet certain criteria,” Gusrizal Gazahar, MUI West Sumatra head, said after the meeting.

The criteria include “being Muslim, honest, brilliant and ready to fight for the people”, the council added.

It also forbade smoking by children and pregnant women, and smoking in public places.

Outside these conditions, smoking was still deemed makruh (blameworthy) for Muslims, it said.

Muslims are also banned from practicing certain aspects of yoga that contained Hindu elements such as chanting and meditation, it said.

But Muslims can continue to perform yoga for purely health reasons, the council added.

Nahdlatul Ulama (NU), Indonesia’s biggest Islamic organisation, slammed the edicts as “excessive”.

NU deputy head Masdar F. Mas’udi said the MUI should not have dragged religion into the three matters.

Yoga, as it is practiced in Indonesia, he said, was a pastime and must not be seen in the context of religious worship.

To discourage people from smoking, he added, the MUI should not use “Islamic law” as a tool.

“What’s important is to inform the public of the bad effects of smoking and urge the government to enforce policies to discourage smoking,” Masdar told The Jakarta Post.

He also said the MUI should “not bring in God and threaten people with hell” if it wanted to encourage Muslims to vote.

Political expert Syamsuddin Haris agreed the MUI should not force people to vote, saying it was their democratic right to vote or not.

“It’s absolutely pointless. A religious body shouldn’t dictate political behaviour,” he told tempointeraktif.com, adding the edict would have little impact.

Muslim scholar Azyumardi Azra also slammed the ban on yoga as “excessive” and “counterproductive”.

However, he lauded the edicts against vote abstention and smoking, saying the former was “positive” in strengthening democracy and elected administrations.

Azyumardi, an assistant to Vice President Jusuf Kalla, said the MUI had “compromised” and taken “accommodating” measures to partly forbid smoking, considering the fact the tobacco industry employed so many workers and contributed much to the country’s economy.

Indonesia Islamic body to mull ban on smoking, yoga

JAKARTA, Jan 23 (Reuters) - Indonesia's top Islamic body meets at the weekend for what looks set to be a hot theological debate on a range of issues including whether Muslims should be allowed to smoke, abstain from voting or even do yoga. Officially secular, Indonesia has the world's largest Muslim population, accounting for roughly 85 percent of the country's 226 million people. Most follow a moderate form of Islam, although there is vocal radical fringe.

About 700 people, including Muslim clerics and theological experts, are due in West Sumatra for the National Edict Commission meeting, which has the power to issue fatwas.

"There will be debate before we reach conclusions. We need to listen to the pros and cons and it's likely to be a hot debate," said Ma'ruf Amin, a chairman of the Ulema Council, known as MUI.

The MUI has carved a key role for itself in Indonesia and its pronouncements on everything from Islamic banking to halal food can have a big influence on Southeast Asia's top economy.

The fatwas are not legally binding but place pressure on Muslims to adhere to them and can influence government policy.

A call from some ulema, or religious councils, for a ban on smoking will be discussed at the meeting in Padang Panjang, around 870 km (540 miles) north west of the capital Jakarta.

The motion has also ready met opposition from councils in parts of east and central Java, where the tobacco industry is a key part of the economy.

Indonesia is the world's No. 5 tobacco market and at around $1 a pack, cigarettes are among the cheapest in the world.

Some cities in Indonesia, including Jakarta, have banned smoking in public places, but the rules are widely flouted.

The Ulema Council was established in 1975 under the influence of former autocratic president Suharto, backing his policy of trying to restrict families to having just two children despite opposition from some Muslims.

It has since reinvented itself in the post-Suharto era, with some members pushing a more radical agenda, including pressing the government to restrict some Muslim sects or liberal groups.

The weekend meeting will also debate whether Muslims should avoid yoga because of the view it uses Hindu prayers that could erode Muslims' faith.

Malaysian Prime Minister Abdullah Ahmad Badawi intervened last year to say that Muslims could carry on doing yoga minus chanting after its National Fatwa Council had issued a ban.

The Sumatra meeting will also debate whether abstaining from voting is "haram", or not allowed. Indonesia holds legislative and presidential elections in April and July, respectively.

Abdurrahman Wahid, a former president and leader of Indonesia's biggest Muslim group, Nahdlatul Ulama, has advised his supporters not to vote amid dissatisfaction with politics.

Underage marriage will also be debated after an Islamic cleric last year incited uproar when he married a 12-year old girl with her parents consent.

Under Indonesian law, men can marry at 19 and women at 16, although under some Islamic laws there is no age limit. (Editing by Ed Davies and David Fox) (olivia.rondonuwu@reuters.com; Reuters Messaging: olivia.rondonuwu.reuters.com@reuters.net; Tel: +6221 384 6364))
